Aguero and Debay agree to a salary cut in order to join Barcelona

Argentine striker Sergio Aguero, the Manchester City player, and Frenchman Debay, Lyon, are close to reducing their wages in order to join Barcelona's Spanish team during the summer transfer season, after the end of the current season.

Manchester City club announced the departure of Aguero, the team's historic top scorer, at the end of the current season, after his contract expired.

The Catalan newspaper "Sport" reported that Aguero is close to joining Barcelona next season, and associating with his fellow countryman, Lionel Messi, after he agreed to reduce his salary he is currently earning with City.

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman does not mind Aguero joining his team, as long as the deal does not affect the contract with Memphis Depay, the French Olympique Lyon striker, whose contract with his club expires at the end of the season as well.

Aguero is City's record goalscorer, scoring a total of 258 goals in 388 games in all competitions, and the 32-year-old has been linked with several major clubs, including Barcelona.

Aguero missed most of Manchester City's matches this season due to injury, as he participated in 18 matches in various competitions, scored 4 goals and made one goal.

This comes at a time when Barcelona entered into an agreement with the Dutch Debay, during which he expressed his agreement to significantly reduce his salary to a number agreed to by the club, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca, which indicated that the matter is now related to the continuity of his compatriot Koeman. The Camp Nou in the summer, and if he is gone, the deal will be reconsidered, especially since it is the biggest supporter of its completion.
